This Saturday, 16th September, the highly anticipated World Series of Warzone™ (WSOWTM) Global Final presented by Prime Gaming will take place for the first time in front of 3,000 fans at the Copper Box Arena in London.

Esports champions from around the world will come together to compete in front of their fans for a share of an impressive $600,000 prize pool.

WSOW 2023 will see the world’s most skilled Call of Duty®: Warzone™ players fly to London and take to the stage to compete. 2023 is a unique year for the competition as, for the first time ever, players in Latin America and Asian Pacific will be able to qualify for the WSOW Global Final, making it the most international competition yet.

Will Fifakill team up with abWizz and OEKIY to bring the trophy to Europe or will TOMMEY team up with Newbz and Almond to take it back to the States? Both trios took home significant prizes at the EU and NA Stage 2 Finals, but it remains to be seen which team will be crowned the ultimate champions. They will be joined by 48 other trios from across six continents.

The Global Final will consist of two main components, the WSOW Trio Squad competition and the iconic SoloYolo competition. The top 50 trios in the world will compete in a custom lobby 6-map series with WSOW scoring and $500K in prize money on the line. The best performing trio will be crowned champion and take home the $100K 1st place prize and priceless street cred.

With its own $100,000 prize pool, the SoloYolo will see the 150 qualifying players from the WSOW Global Finals compete as solos, with the winner being determined by overall placement. If you’re not first, you’re last.

• WSOW Trios Competition 3pm BST / 4pm CEST / 7am PST
• SoloYolo @ 8pm BST / 9pm CEST / 12pm PST

Presented by Prime Gaming, Prime subscribers can also take advantage of the WSOW Designated Driver Pack. The WSOW operator skin also comes with TAQ-V Battle Rifle Weapon Blueprint to be used in game.

You can tune in for the World Series of Warzone™ Global Final at twitch.tv/CallofDuty on Saturday at 3pm BST / 4pm CEST / 7am PST. Twitch viewers will also have the opportunity to win a MWIII Beta code with 50,000 codes up for grabs. Other prizes include the Lightning Rod Blueprint, “You Dropped This” Camo and XP tokens to use in game.

In 2019, Sledgehammer Games entered its second decade of operation since it first opened its doors in 2009. The studio is known for its Call of Duty games including the upcoming Call of Duty Vanguard.

Later on they achieved further success, including massive global hiring campaign with studio expansions in Melbourne, Australia in 2019 and Toronto, Canada in 2021.

Now, the studio will expand its reach with a new location based in Guildford, United Kingdom.

“Guildford has a long history of video game development, and as a result, there’s a lot of top-tier talent and an existing game dev community there and in the surrounding towns. We’re also an easy reverse commute in from London, which has a huge talent pool.”

Liz Wyle, General Manager of Sledgehammer Games Guilford.

The new Guildford studio will partner with other teams in the Bay Area, Melbourne, and Toronto to support Call of Duty: Vanguard’s Live Seasons as well as future projects for the years ahead.

They are also looking to hire new people across Art, Design, Engineering, Animation, UI & UX, Production, Audio, and more.

They are looking for various levels of seniority and are also prepared to create roles when great talent comes along.

“I’m just really excited to bring our studio brand to the UK, along with the incredible franchise we get to work on. It’s another opportunity to do our own small part to grow the industry, in a place where there’s a huge number of talented developers. As we have done in our other locations, we will be looking to build partnerships with schools and universities to help nurture and grow the next generation of talent. It’s not just about finding people who already work in the industry, it’s about providing pathways for those who are looking to get in. I remember that daunting feeling very well and it makes me happy to be providing opportunity, especially as we emerge from a historic pandemic.”

Andy Wilson, COO Sledgehammer Games

The studio’s upcoming game Call of Duty: Vanguard will launch on November 5th.

Kumiho Gaming had to face injustice in the COD: Warzone Zero Hour +1 tournament. Ferit Karakaya and Kumiho Gaming who represent Turkey announced the injustice in Twitter by using twitlonger.

The injustice we faced in the COD: Warzone Zero Hour +1 tournament.

Esports has come a long way and developed as an industry in the last decade. Sadly, we see again today that professional tournament organizers, like PlayHera, still continue to accuse us of using the “Reverse Boosting” method from the archaic era of esports.

Leijone, Aegis54, Czathu, and valuable streamer Ferit Karakaya who represent Turkey in the COD: Warzone Zero Hour +1 tournament, despite the team, manage to rise next step of the tournament with their qualified games technically, tournament organisators make the process slow, even they try to ignore their victory. Currently, we are trying to seek our rights. Ferit Karakaya and Turkey Gamify are showing us great support in our efforts. We thank you forever, and we will inform you about the developments related to the subject.

We will share the developments on the subject with you as soon as possible on our social media account, we are ready to do our best to move esports forward.

KUMIHO GAMING’S TWITLONGER EXPLANATION

They Withdrew From The Tournament!

Kumiho Gaming team continued their objections as they stated in the twitlonger link. After they were done wrong, the situation became clear today. According to the statements made by Ferit Karakaya and Kumiho Gaming’s Twitter account in the past hours, Kumiho Gaming was cleared of the unfounded accusations, but although Kumiho is ahead, the organizer team wanted Kumiho Gaming to continue the tournament with 1-1 and play the tiebreak competition. However, as a result of events such as the opponent team’s desire to play in the tiebreak with the substitute, the organization accepted this and Kumiho Gaming was banned from playing training competition since yesterday, Kumiho Gaming decided not to play the tiebreak competition and to withdraw from the tournament.

We hope you will understand our decision not to continue any longer with this ridiculous tournament order and the decisions of referees away from esports. We thank you.

Ferit Karakaya

We think their fans will be understanding with their brave and proud actions. You can find Ferit Karakaya’s Twitter statement consisting of several tweets here.

Explanation about WARZONE ZERO HOUR +1

As the Esport Times team, we send our wishes to Ferit Karakaya and Kumiho Gaming because of the unfairness they had to face. We believe and know that; one day, Kumiho Gaming will achieve the success it deserves in the Warzone, and it will make us all proud. We wish Kumiho Gaming success in the further tournaments.
