RisingWings, an independent studio within KRAFTON, Inc. has officially launched Defense Derby, a worldwide real-time strategy defense mobile game.

Defense Derby is an exciting new twist on the tower defense genre, offering four-player, four-way combat packed with strategy, mind games, and powerful synergies. Each round begins with a ‘bidding phase’ where players bid against each other to recruit fighter units and build their teams. Players then strategically place their units in their castles to capitalise on their unique abilities and fend off a series of monster attacks. The last player standing before their castle falls is declared the victor.

With Defense Derby, KRAFTON also introduces a new genre known as “Betting Royale”. This unique gameplay mechanic is based on players researching units and bidding in-game for the units they want on their team. Available in over 190 countries worldwide in nine languages including Korean, English, Japanese, Thai, Indonesian, Malay, Portuguese and Simplified Chinese, Defense Derby can be downloaded from Google Play, the Apple App Store and the Samsung Galaxy Store.

Defense Derby is packed with new modes and content to make the experience even more fun. As well as the core game modes of Derby Mode (PvP) and Blitz Mode (PvE), players can also try out Valley of Trials, where they must use fighters of the same race as the units in the dungeon. Other fun modes include Friendly Derby, where you can create rooms and play with your friends, and Themed Mode, which is available for a set period of time and has different rules each time. In addition to Themed Mode, there is also Ban Pick Mode, where players can ban certain units owned by their opponents before the battle begins, and Quest Mode, where the first player to survive the battle and complete the given missions wins.

To celebrate the launch of the game, there will be a series of exciting in-game events. During the launch period, all players will receive a ‘Welcome Pack’ filled with in-game bonuses, including 20,000 gold, a Rare Hero card, a Rare Unit card and a special castle skin. Players will have the opportunity to win prizes such as Legendary Unit Cards, Rare Unit Cards, Cubics, Gold and more through in-game events such as the Login Event, Lucky Draw and Event Store. Events will also be organised on the official YouTube, Facebook and Discord channels.

Sinchan Park, Director of Production for Defense Derby, said:

Defense Derby has been in development for almost two years and we are very excited to officially launch it to players worldwide. By adding regular content and providing a consistent service, we want to ensure that players get the most out of the game.

Apex Legends is one of the most popular battle royale game on PC and consoles. The developers have expanded their horizons by publishing its mobile version, Apex Legends Mobile. Chad Grenier, the then director of the game, announced in April 2021 that they were starting regional beta tests. After a year, the closed beta is over, and the game is now available on AppStore and Google Play Store.

Alongside Respawn Entertainment, Lightspeed & Quantum Studio have developed the game. The mobile gaming studio didn’t make noticeable changes to the mobile version. In fact, they added new things to the game that are exclusive to the mobile version, including new cosmetics, new game modes, and new content. Fade, the mobile-exclusive legend, is one of them too.

Apex Legends Mobile – Fade Abilities

The players can get the mobile-exclusive legends, Fade, in two different ways. To get it for free, you need to level up your battle pass and acquire 10 Fade Pieces. Even the battle pass has a premium one, just like the regular Apex Legends, and Fade Pieces are one of the free rewards. If you are not that patient and ready to pay money for the game, you can also purchase Fade by paying 750 Syndicate Golds.

apex legends mobile

Passive Ability: Slipstream

Fade’s passive ability gives him a speed boost at the end of his slides, but it has a 10-second cooldown.

Tactical Ability: Flashback

The Flashback ability teleports Fade to a previous location, just like Ekko’s ultimate ability in League of Legends.

Ultimate Ability: Phase Chamber

By using his ultimate ability, Fade throws a cage. After it explodes, the players in the explosion, both enemies and teammates, will enter the void. While in the void, the players can’t deal damage or get hit, but everyone’s movement speed will be reduced.

3v3 Deathmatch

Just like the Control mode in the regular game, Apex Legends Mobile has a deathmatch too, but it’s permanent. If you think you don’t know the game that much or new to the mobile shooters, you can easily learn the basics in this game mode.

Different Maps

The maps are also a little different from the regular game. Actually, the maps in Apex Legends Mobile are the original versions of Kings Canyon and World’s Edge. If you miss those maps, that’s a great opportunity to go back in time.

A Better Firing Range

One of the things that the Apex Legends players are complaining about is the warm up map, Firing Range. The simple targets and non-infinite bullets that make you loot ammo are some of the lacks in the training mode. But in Apex Legends Mobile, there are more than what players want. Moving targets, different challenges, infinite ammo, and information about the guns are just enough to make the Apex Legends players envy.

Special Gifts for Pre-Registered Apex Legends Mobile Players

If you download the game and complete your first battle royale match, the game will give you gifts. They include weapon and legend skins, a badge, and a holospray.

Garena has finally put an end to speculation about the participation of India and CIS regions in the Free Fire World Series (FFWS) Sentosa. In a press release today, the developer announced the updated slot distribution for FFWS, and neither region is included in the updated distribution.

Two top teams from India and CIS needed to qualify for FFWS through regional competitions like Free Fire India Championship Spring and Free Fire Pro League CIS Season 4. The winner of these competitions would qualify for the FFWS Finals. Both of these tournaments were not held on schedule, but this means that fans will not be able to see Indian and CIS teams in FFWS.

The Free Fire India Championship was suspended last February after the game was banned in the South Asian country due to alleged data privacy concerns. The Free Fire Pro League CIS on the other hand was canceled due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

As a result, only 10 teams will compete in the play-ins in the updated slot distribution for FFWS. From here, the top four teams will continue to the FFWS finals. Previously, only two teams were required to advance from play-ins, but this number has been increased to four due to the lack of CIS and India regions.

The qualifying rounds for the FFWS will be held on May 14, and the finals will be held on May 21. It should be noted that FFWS also has a huge prize pool of 2 million dollars.

PUBG Mobile has announced that its amateur and semi-pro tournament PUBG Mobile Club Open (PMCO) will have a total prize pool of $600,000 for the upcoming Spring semester.

Registration for the event, which officially opened today, will end on April 13. Following the competitive changes of PUBG Mobile, players active in 170 regions will be represented in 6 different regions.

The six regions include North America, South America, Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Europe.

Although the tournament will operate in six regions, some PMCOs will have sub-regions. This includes PMCO South America (PMCO Brazil and PMCO Latin America), PMCO Asia (PMCO South Asia and Asia Wildcard), and PMCO Europe (PMCO West Europe and PMCO Turkey).

Due to the competition’s focus on amateur and semi-pro teams, PMCO will no longer promote directly to PUBG Mobile Pro Leagues. Teams will not compete via PUBG Mobile National Championship or PMNC Regional Cups to reach PMPL in 2023.

Despite the official announcement and registrations being open, PUBG Mobile has yet to announce when the 2022 PMCO Spring season will officially kick off.

In addition, Riot Games has announced the opening plans for the Wild Rift Esports season. Regional tournaments will act as qualifiers for the Wild Rift Icons Global Championship, which will take place in the Summer.

  • Australia
  • New Zealand

You can download the APK version of the game to access it, however this is not advised and the results may wary.

“Starting today, we will begin our limited regional launch where we will focus on testing our matchmaking and progression systems, backend infrastructure and in-game commerce, as well as our regional live operations capabilities. We’re excited to receive valuable player feedback on the Ranked experience, the different game modes, Legend progression, monetization features, and more. These milestones and player feedback are important parts of the development process.”

Apex Legends Developer Respawn Entertainment

We currently don’t know exactly when the mobile version of Apex Legends will launch world wide. However “soft launch” periods usually only last a few months. Although the developers did indicate that “Players who are participating in the limited regional launch can access the Store until May 3rd. Account progress and unlocked items earned during the limited regional launch period will be reset prior to game launch.”

This might mean that the mobile version of Apex Legends will launch sometime in May of this year.
