The Skyesports Masters 2024 tournament, which will take place as a LAN in India, has been officially announced. The teams Liquid, NIP, BIG and ENCE have been invited to the tournament with a prize pool of $350,000. However, not all the teams that will take part in the tournament have been announced yet.

In the previous year, Indian teams competed in the Skyesports Masters 2023 tournament, where Gods Reign emerged as the champions after defeating their rivals Revenant 2-0 in the final. They won a prize money of $53,944, while the runner-up, Revenant, received $39,010. This year, the tournament has expanded to include international teams and the total prize pool has increased from $146,032 to $350,000.

Skyesports Masters 2024

The tournament is scheduled to take place between 8-14 April 2024, but the host city is yet to be determined. Direct invitations have been sent to Liquid, NIP, BIG, and ENCE teams. Additionally, two more teams will be invited to participate, making a total of 8 teams. The remaining two teams will be selected through the European and Indian qualifiers.

The Skyesports Masters 2024 tournament is an A-Tier event. The format and date of the European qualifier are yet to be announced. However, the Indian qualifier is scheduled for March 2024. The qualifiers consist of both open and closed rounds, with the eight remaining teams in the closed qualifiers competing for a spot in the tournament. The tournament will be held as a LAN event, while the open and closed qualifiers will be conducted online.

Call of Duty and PlayStation have teamed up to create one of the most unique launch events of the year to celebrate the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare® III. The beloved multiplayer airport map, Terminal, from the hit Modern Warfare franchise, was brought to life in a secret London location.

The launch event, held one day before launch in the UK, saw guests check-in, taken through security and into a buzzing Terminal experience – with early gameplay, one day ahead of launch on PlayStation®5, and DJ sets from DnB trailblazers, Chase & Status, and DnB sensation DJ and producer Bou.

Lucky fans who won their spot at the launch through entering competitions were able to grab a bite to eat from Terminal’s known and loved restaurant, Burger Town, explore the space, get hands on with the game, and get a quick trim, Soap style, from the Monster Energy barbers.

In attendance at the MWIII launch event were Alex Iwobi, Fran Kirby, ArrDee and Diddy’s son King Combs who jumped straight onto the PS5™ banks to play the latest edition to the franchise.

It’s a big day tomorrow – it’s been a fun campaign to get to this point. It’s always exciting releasing an album but this year is extra special. All the shows have been amazing and the interaction with the fans too

Chase & Status

When asked about playing the Modern Warfare III event, they said “it‘s a mad crossover with music and gaming in general – it’s obviously a really cool thing to be part of.

Esports champions from around the world will come together to compete in front of their fans for a share of an impressive $600,000 prize pool.

WSOW 2023 will see the world’s most skilled Call of Duty®: Warzone™ players fly to London and take to the stage to compete. 2023 is a unique year for the competition as, for the first time ever, players in Latin America and Asian Pacific will be able to qualify for the WSOW Global Final, making it the most international competition yet.

Will Fifakill team up with abWizz and OEKIY to bring the trophy to Europe or will TOMMEY team up with Newbz and Almond to take it back to the States? Both trios took home significant prizes at the EU and NA Stage 2 Finals, but it remains to be seen which team will be crowned the ultimate champions. They will be joined by 48 other trios from across six continents.

The Global Final will consist of two main components, the WSOW Trio Squad competition and the iconic SoloYolo competition. The top 50 trios in the world will compete in a custom lobby 6-map series with WSOW scoring and $500K in prize money on the line. The best performing trio will be crowned champion and take home the $100K 1st place prize and priceless street cred.

With its own $100,000 prize pool, the SoloYolo will see the 150 qualifying players from the WSOW Global Finals compete as solos, with the winner being determined by overall placement. If you’re not first, you’re last.

• WSOW Trios Competition 3pm BST / 4pm CEST / 7am PST
• SoloYolo @ 8pm BST / 9pm CEST / 12pm PST

Presented by Prime Gaming, Prime subscribers can also take advantage of the WSOW Designated Driver Pack. The WSOW operator skin also comes with TAQ-V Battle Rifle Weapon Blueprint to be used in game.

Activision Blizzard has revealed that Overwatch League franchise owners will be voting on a revised ‘operating agreement’ once the current season concludes. This disclosure was made in a financial filing by the company.

In the event that teams decide not to continue operating under the updated agreement, they will be required to pay a termination fee of $6 million per franchise. The total cost of these termination fees, if all teams choose this option, would amount to $114 million.

The information regarding the voting and termination fees was disclosed as part of Activision Blizzard’s Q2 financial results. Within these results, it was also disclosed that the total revenues generated by the Overwatch League constitute less than 1% of the company’s consolidated net revenue.

As previously disclosed, our collaborative arrangements for our professional esports leagues continue to face headwinds. During the second quarter, we amended certain terms of our collaborative arrangements with team entities participating in the Overwatch League. According to the amended terms, following the conclusion of the current Overwatch League season, the teams will vote on an updated operating agreement.

2023 Financial Results

The financial filing did not provide specific details about the vote, such as the threshold needed for it to pass, the exact content of the updated operating agreement, or the date when the vote would take place. However, it was mentioned that the vote is expected to occur at the end of the current Overwatch League season, which is scheduled to end on October 1st.

In June, OverActive Media, an Overwatch League franchise slot owner, made an announcement stating that they had reached an agreement with Activision Blizzard to clear their outstanding franchise fee payments. This deal was valued at $6.5 million and included a sponsorship arrangement between the two parties. While OverActive Media had to disclose the deal publicly because it is a publicly traded company, it is widely believed that other franchises may have also had their remaining fees waived in similar deals.

Interestingly, based on the disclosed $114 million total in termination fees, with each franchise receiving $6 million, it suggests that there are 19 franchises. This is peculiar because the Overwatch League was initially intended to have 20 franchises. In May, The Esports Advocate reported that the Chengdu Hunters had disbanded, but the fate of Chengdu Hunters’ franchise slot was not officially confirmed.

Red Bull has unveiled the third season of its collegiate VALORANT tournament, the Red Bull Campus Clutch, offering teams representing schools and universities a chance to compete for a €20,000 prize pool.

The event will feature more than 200 regional competitions in the next four months, with the winning teams from local events advancing to the National Final. The victorious teams in the National Final will then represent their countries in the World Final, set to take place at the Volkswagen Arena in Istanbul from November 19th-24th, the same venue as VALORANT Champions 2022.

For the Campus Clutch event, Red Bull has confirmed that it will maintain partnerships with Intel NUC, AGON by AOC, and BACKFORCE. Intel NUC will supply its range of PCs, while BACKFORCE will provide gaming chairs, and AOC will offer its AGON gaming monitors.

This collaboration further strengthens Red Bull’s existing partnership with Riot Games, the publisher and developer of VALORANT. The company had previously extended its partnership with Riot Games for the VALORANT Champions Tour EMEA in April 2023, continuing as an official partner of the league.

The Red Bull Campus Clutch first started in 2021, attracting participation from 50 countries and over 25,000 students. The tournament serves as a platform for amateur talent to showcase their skills, and it has seen notable success stories in the past, such as 2021 tournament MVP Mohamed ‘shalaby‘ Shalaby, who joined Team Vitality, and Indonesian player Oliver ‘m0rea‘ Wangge, who won a gold medal at the 2023 South East Asian Games.

ESL has revealed new information about the upcoming ESL Impact League Season 4, a women’s Counter-Strike tournament.

The event will take place in Valencia, Spain, marking the second time the city has hosted the tournament within a two-year period. The league will kick off with an online phase from September 13 to October 29, followed by LAN finals at DreamHack Valencia, commencing on December 8.

A total of 28 teams from different regions will participate, competing for a $150,000 prize pool and the final ESL Impact trophy of the year. In the previous edition held in July 2022, Nigma Galaxy emerged as champions, defeating FURIA fe to secure one of the three LAN titles they claimed that year.

ESL has scheduled two sets of qualifiers, which will take place from August 18-20 and 25-27. However, specific details about the structure of the regional qualifiers and the number of directly invited teams have yet to be disclosed.

In Season 3, the format allowed the top three teams from Europe and two teams each from North and South America to qualify for the offline phase. An additional qualifier determined the eighth and final team for the Dallas event.

Nigma Galaxy currently holds an undefeated record in the ESL Impact circuit, having secured the most recent trophy at DreamHack Dallas by defeating NAVI Javelins. Led by Ana “ANa” Dumbravă, the team has not conceded a tournament and is currently on a winning streak of five titles, aiming to extend their remarkable record in Valencia.
